Summer Sunday Reading Recap

A consolidation of some of my recent reads in case you need a sunny Sunday recco… To Have and to Hoax by Martha Waters Perfection!!! This book was everything. Why else would I have been so desperate to finish it that I stayed up until the wee hours, even though my teething baby was finallyContinue reading “Summer Sunday Reading Recap”

Self-Isolation Sunday ~ Go Watch Dickinson!!!

Hi Everyone and Happy Sunday! As another weekend of self-isolation comes to a close, I wanted to offer an additional recommendation for how to spend your time indoors. If you’re a reader of this blog, I’m going to go ahead and assume that you love literature and anything and everything literary-inspired. With that in mind,Continue reading “Self-Isolation Sunday ~ Go Watch Dickinson!!!”

Brontë Season

I will always regard April as BrontĂ« Season, probably because Charlotte’s birthday is on April 21st. For this reason, I have always felt that April is the perfect time to read works by the BrontĂ«s, and considering that they lived on the bleak, cold and rainy moors of Haworth, it is particularly fitting that IContinue reading “BrontĂ« Season”

The Book I Have Avoided for Years ~ #JNGReads Wide Sargasso Sea

This year has been an incredibly challenging one for me, what with being pregnant since the first week of 2019. This particular time is especially challenging, as I am over 39 weeks pregnant and anxiously await my baby’s imminent arrival.  So, what would compel me as a fierce lover of Jane Eyre and Charlotte BrontĂ«Continue reading “The Book I Have Avoided for Years ~ #JNGReads Wide Sargasso Sea”

Pre-Baby Book Reviews ~ #JNGReads

Happy Hump Day, dear Readers! I’m back this evening with a whole bunch of book reviews. I have to be honest, my intention was to hold onto these reviews and post them as part of bigger, themed entries with reviews for a few other books I’m hoping to read soon…but then, it hit me allContinue reading “Pre-Baby Book Reviews ~ #JNGReads”

JNG’s 2018 Reading Round Up

Happy New Year everyone, and thank you for joining me as I round up my reads (the good and the bad) of 2018! I have to start by saying that I actually somehow managed to read 75 books this year!!!  I don’t mean to brag, but this is a pretty remarkable feat for me because IContinue reading “JNG’s 2018 Reading Round Up”

The Royal We ~ #JNGReads

The Royal We was not at all what I expected…and I think I’m okay with that! The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan is supposed to be a Kate Middleton fan fiction. I think that description does this novel, which is actually quite well-written and poignant, a great disservice. To me, if someoneContinue reading “The Royal We ~ #JNGReads”

A Letter to Mr. Rochester

Dear Mr. Rochester– My name is Janille N G and we first became acquainted eight years ago. I do not expect you to remember me, as I am sure you meet many new people each year, most specifically young women. We have, however, rekindled our acquaintance multiple times over the course of the last eightContinue reading “A Letter to Mr. Rochester”

Jane Steele ~ #JNGReads

Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye is an excellent read! I highly recommend this one to fans of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre because it is a lot of fun, and offers a surprising spin on Brontë’s original classic. I decided to read Jane Steele for two reasons: the first is that my best friend and fellowContinue reading “Jane Steele ~ #JNGReads”
