Following up on yesterday’s post, I wanted to try something a little different this week on the ol’ blog.
In the last week or so, I have read several poetry collections by everyone from Rupi Kaur to Lang Leav to Margaret Atwood. This poetry reading project of sorts came about on a whim when I couldn’t sleep one night and decided to borrow Milk and Honey on my phone from my local library’s app. I finished the collection in 30 minutes and moved onto the next collection rapidly, all the while feeling this itch to write some words myself.
From this reading experience came a handful of new poems, popping fully formed into my mind and heart and begging to be written down.
I first shared them on my literary/creative writing Instagram page jngécrit but I also felt it was important to share them here and continue to put myself out there in this way. If you are on Instagram, though, and are interested in reading my creative works first, please feel free to follow me there.
So, without further ado, here is day #1 of JNG Librairie’s First Ever Week of Poems.
